    The research aims to describe PPs UNM (Postgraduate Program of State University of Makassar) students’ understanding guided by Pirie-Kieren theory in solving proving problem in group theory based on cognitive style (field independent and field dependent) and adversity quotient (climber, camper, and quitter). The conclusion based on the test and interview results are: (1) the levels of understanding achieved by FI-Climber subject are the primitive knowing, image having, property noticing, formalising, and organising; (2) the levels of understanding achieved by FI-Camper subject are the primitive knowing, image having, property noticing, formalising, and organising; (3) it is not discovered the subjects who have field independent cognitive style and low AQ (quitter); (4) the levels of understanding achieved by FD-Climber subject are primitive knowing, image having, formalising, and organising; (5) the levels of understanding achieved by FD-Camper are primitive knowing, image having, and formalising; (6) it is not discovered the subjects who have field dependent cognitive style and low AQ (quitter)

    ADVERSITY QUOTIENT AND RESILIENCE IN MATHEMATICAL PROOF PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY

    Abstract:Various mathematical abilities require a high level of struggle to be achieved, one of which is the ability to solve mathematical proof problems. Several factors are also associated with this ability, including adversity quotient and resilience. This research aimed to look at the effect of adversity quotient and resilience on the mathematical proof problem-solving ability. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample in this study were 31 students randomly selected from all students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Sulawesi Barat who programmed Abstract Algebra course in the academic year of 2019/2020, amounting to 71 students. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regressions. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that adversity quotient and resilience affect the mathematical proof problem-solving ability positively both individually and simultaneously.Abstrak:Berbagai kemampuan matematis memerlukan daya juang tinggi untuk berhasil dicapai, salah satunya kemampuan pemecahan masalah pembuktian matematis. Beberapa faktor pun dikaitkan dengan kemampuan tersebut, antara lain adversity quotient dan resiliensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh adversity quotient dan resiliensi terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pembuktian matematis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 31 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak dari seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Sulawesi Barat yang memprogramkan mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar tahun akademik 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 71 mahasiswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa adversity quotient dan resiliensi berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pembuktian matematis baik secara sendiri-sendiri maupun secara simultan

    STUDENTS' THINKING PROCESS IN SOLVING MATHEMATICAL PROOF PROBLEM

    TThis research aimed to describe students’ thinking process in solving mathematical proof problem. The subjects in this research were Mathematics Education Study Program students in Universitas Sulawesi Barat who were taking Abstract Algebra course on academic year of 2019/2020 and were grouped into 3 proving ability categories, high, medium, and low. For each category, two subjects were chosen to be interviewed in order to obtain a description of students' thinking processes. From the results of tests and interviews, it was found that in the entry phase, high and medium category subjects were able to find the right initial verification procedure, whereas low category subjects were not yet able. In the attack phase, high category subjects were able to complete the process of proof to the final stage very systematically, medium category subjects were able to use the properties and theorems but still have difficulty achieving the right end result, while low category subjects try to use the properties and theorems but are not related to the verification process. In the review phase, high category subjects were able to explain the procedure outline again, category subjects were trying to supplement the shortcomings of the procedure, and low category subjects realized the importance of the initial proof process

    Salah satu masalah matematika yang sering dihadapi mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran adalah masalah pembuktian matematis. Pembuktian matematis hadir di banyak mata kuliah, salah satunya pada topik Teori Grup yang ada pada mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar. Pemecahan masalah pembuktian matematis memerlukan daya juang dalam penyelesaiannya mengingat prosesnya yang memerlukan pemikiran tingkat tinggi. Salah satu faktor yang diduga terkait adalah adversity quotient. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat pengaruh adversity quotient terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pembuktian matematis topik Teori Grup. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Sulawesi Barat yang sedang memprogramkan mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar pada tahun akademik 2019/2020, sedangkan sampelnya adalah 30 orang mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak dari populasi tersebut. Data yang diperoleh dari Adversity Response Profile (ARP) Quick Take™ dan Tes Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Pembuktian Matematis Topik Teori Grup dianalisis dengan teknik regresi linear sederhana berbantuan perangkat lunak dengan uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas dan uji linearitas. Pengujian yang digunakan adalah uji dua pihak dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa adversity quotient berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pembuktian matematis topik Teori Grup. Dari hasil analisis lanjutan juga diperoleh bahwa pengaruh tersebut merupakan pengaruh positif namun berada pada kategori  lemah

    This study aims to determine the difficulties of junior high school students in solving problems of operating algebraic forms. This research is included in the type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach, with the research design used is a case study. The subjects of this study were 20 students of class VII SMP Negeri 5 Sendana and 4 students were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the analysis show that students' difficulties in solving algebraic operational problems consist of 4 (four) difficulty criteria, namely; 1) Able to solve problems properly and correctly; 2) Be able to understand the problem and be able to identify information on the problem, be able to plan a solution to the problem but make a mistake in implementing the problem-solving plan and re-examine the answers that have been written; 3) Difficulty understanding the problem, difficulty planning problem solving, difficulty implementing problem solving plans and difficulty re-checking answers; 4) Able to understand the problem and identify the information contained in the problem, experience difficulties in problem-solving plans, difficulties in implementing problem-solving plans and re-checking answers. In conclusion, this study resulted in an analysis of the difficulties of class VII students in solving mathematical problems material for algebraic operations in three ability categories, namely; 1) Subjects with high ability category (ST); 2) Subjects with medium ability category (SS) and 3) Subjects with low ability category (SR)   Keywords: Difficulty analysis, Problem solving, Operations of Algebraic Form

    Metacognition is an important role in supporting students' success in mathematical problems solving. This study aims to describe the metacognitive activities of prospective teacher students in mathematical problems solving. The subjects of this study were as many as two people drawn from highly capable students with the consideration that the subjects were able to communicate / express their thoughts well. Data were collected using mathematical problem solving tests and interviews. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that in each stage of solving mathematical problems consisting of 4 stages namely understanding the problem, planning the solution, carrying out the plan of completion, and checking again, the subject performs metacognitive activities namely planning activities (planning) thinking processes, monitoring thinking process, and evaluating the process and results of thinking

    Referring to the Circular of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 3 of 2020 concerning Prevention of COVID-19 in Education Units, and Number 36962/MPK.A/HK/2020, teaching and learning activities are also carried out online in order to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). . A number of local governments have also closed schools to anticipate the spread of COVID-19. As part of the solution, learning in schools is replaced with learning in the network (online), or familiarly called online. Online learning is a learning system that is not carried out face to face, but uses a platform that can help the teaching and learning process that is carried out even though it is distanced. The purpose of online learning is to provide quality learning services in a massive and open network in order to reach more and wider study space enthusiasts. The implementation of online learning policies in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic at 11 state high schools  in Bone Regency was carried out based on  central government regulations and then continued with circulars from the Bone Regency regional government which remained based on policies that had been set by the central government, the implementation of learning Online learning at SMAN 11 Bone Regency is carried out by utilizing several online-based learning platforms or applications, namely Zoom and WhatsAap.     The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning creativity and interest in learning mathematics on mathematics learning outcomes for students of class XI IPA MAN 1 Polewali Mandar. This research is an ex-post facto causal research with a research sample of 72 students, namely 20 students of class XI IPA 1, 20 students of class XI IPA 2, and 20 students of class IPA 3, 12 students of class XI IPA 4 MAN 1 Polewali Mandar selected by using proportionate stratified simple random sampling. Data collection techniques used the following instruments: (1) mathematics learning interest questionnaire, (2) interest in learning mathematics questionnaire, (3) mathematics learning outcomes test. Data analysis using descriptive analysis and  inferential analysis. The result of the descriptive analysis of the data showed that: (1) learning creativity was in the high category, (2) interest in learning was in the medium category, and (3) students’ mathematics learning outcomes were in the medium category. The results of hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression, namely: (1) learning creativity has a positive and significant effect on students mathematics learning outcomes, (2) interest in learning has a positive and significant learning outcomes, (3) learning creativity and interest in learning has a positive and significant effect on students mathematics learning outcomes

    PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DI KELAS VIII SMP

    The present research aims to determine student learning outcomes after applying the problem based learning model to material on the human respiratory system. This research followed 32 class VIII students at one of the state junior high schools in Gresik for the 2022/2023 academic year. The design used is one group pretest-posttest design. The analysis technique is analysis of learning outcomes using N-Gain. This research can be concluded, namely that science learning in the human respiratory system material through the application of problem based learning techniques achieves complete learning outcomes in knowledge competency with an average score of 85.6. The increase can be seen in the normalized gain pretest and posttest scores of 0.73 in the high category. Based on the analysis of the normalized gain results and the information presented, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model improves junior high school students' learning outcomes in science subjects on the human respiratory system

    Investor Protection Fund (IPF), merupakan suatu skema yang bentuk guna melindungi kepentingan nasabah terhadap bahaya kehilangan aset dalam perusahaan efek pailit. Peraturan Bapepam Nomor VI.A.4 tentang Dana Perlindungan Pemodal mengatur tentang ganti rugi terhadap aset nasabah yang hilang apakah dengan adanya aturan ini dapat meng-cover perlindungan yang dibutuhkan oleh nasabah dibandingkan dengan aturan yang ada sebelumnya dalam Peraturan Bapepam Nomor VI.A.3 tentang Rekening Efek Pada Kustodian. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis landasan hukum terbentuknya IPF dan bentuk perlindungan yang diberikan IPF terhadap aset nasabah dalam perusahaan efek pailit. Sifat penelitian ini adalah hukum normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan (statute approach) dan perbandingan (comparative approach). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembentukan IPF didasari pada tugas dari Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) dan Self Regulatory Organization (SRO) untuk melindungi konsumen sebagaimana diamanatkan dalam pasal 28-31 Undang-undang No 21 Tahun 2011 tentang OJK. Selain itu didasari oleh rekomendasi dari organisasi internasional, yang mana pasar modal Indonesia menjadi anggota di dalamnya. Berdasarkan Peraturan Bapepam Nomor VI.A.4 tentang Dana Perlindungan Pemodal, bentuk perlindungan hanya ditujukan untuk investor ritel, IPF memberikan ganti rugi atas aset nasabah yang hilang dan mewakili nasabah sebagai pemegang kuasa dan hak subrogasi. Hal ini menurut penulis perlunya dilakukan perbaikan terhadap konsep perlindungan yang diberikan oleh IPF, yaitu yaitu dengan memperluas subyek perlindungan kepada investor ritel dan investor institusional, selain itu dibutuhkan pembaruan terhadap Undang-undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1995 tentang Pasar Modal terkhusus untuk memberikan payung hukum yang kuat bagi pendirian Investor Protection Fund (IPF) dan menegaskan bentuk perlindungan hukum untuk nasabah/pemodal yang dirugikan serta menegaskan kedudukan nasabah ketika terjadi pailit pada perusahaan efek.Kata kunci : IPF, Perusahaan Efek, Kepailita
